Picked from the hotel by the driver, he will brief you on the safari and then begin your journey north through the lush Kikuyu farmlands and coffee plantation to the cool Kenyan highlands to arrive at Samburu Ashnil or similar in time for lunch. At 1600 hrs, enjoy an afternoon game drive within the park to introduce you to the game in the area.
Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/Camp.
Full day in the reserve with game drives at 0630hrs and 1600 hrs respectively. Samburu is famous for its rare mammals that only survive north of the equator. These are the gerenuk, reticulated giraffe, beisa Oryx and grevy's zebra.
Overnight and dinner at the Lodge/Camp.
Depart after breakfast and drive southwards with a brief stop at the stunning Thompson’s falls. Proceed towards the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving at Lake Nakuru Lodge / Similar in time for lunch. Thereafter, enjoy an afternoon game drive in park that also takes you to the shores of the lake famous for its bird life especially flamingos that form a pink hue across the lake.
Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/Camp.
Depart Nakuru after breakfast and drive through the floor of the Rift Valley to the world famous Maasai Mara game reserve, arriving at your hotel/lodge in time for lunch. At 1600 hrs enjoy an afternoon game drive in the reserve.
Overnight at preferred Lodge/Camp.
Full day in the reserve with both morning and afternoon game drives at 0630 hrs and 1600 hrs mid morning and early afternoon at leisure respectively and in the course of the day you can plan with your guide to visit the Maasai village to experience the local cultural life. The Mara is the northern extension of the Serengeti and its rolling plains are home to hundreds of plains game together with predators that feed on them.
Considered by many to be Kenya's finest game reserve, the 650sq miles of the Maasai Mara adjoin Tanzania's well known Serengeti, forming one ecosystem. The open rolling savannah grassland of the Mara is the home of numerous wildlife species including elephant, rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, jackal, buffalo, eland, topi, impala, gazelle, warthog and zebra. From June to September, the annual Wildebeest migration takes place when thousands of these animals sweep across the plain and seek out new grazing grounds.
Overnight at preferred Lodge/Camp.
Depart the Mara after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving early afternoon. Lunch at the famous Carnivore restaurant and thereafter, drop off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for your departing flight.
